My wife and I traveled to Seattle for our Alaskan cruise. We read several reviews about this restaurant and made reservations online for 7 pm the night before our cruise. We arrived at 6:30 (the place was packed) and were promptly seated in a great secluded area above the main dining area. Sam, our waiter, was prompt, professional and knowledgable and made several good suggestions. A local wine - Kung Fu Girl - was wonderful. The squash-sweet potato soup was very tasty. My wife had the Halibut with Green Mango and I had the Mandarin Chicken. Both dishes were very good. The Raspberry Tartlet was a great finish. We had a wonderful dinner and would definitely dine here again.

My party only had one night in Seattle and we had not made reservaitons. We went to Wild Ginger and even though it was full they were able to accommodate us in the bar in less than 15 minutes. Great food, super service.
I love their satay selection!

“Reliably Excellent Asian Tapas”

I dined at Wild Ginger about ten years ago after it opened in another location near the waterfront. Since then, it's moved into larger digs in downtown, but the results are the same. The menu is huge and most items are fantastic. Of course, with so many items there is bound to be some mediocrity here and there. But if you order eight dishes for a party of three or four, you can count on at least a few being delicious and well above average.

Drink option are plentiful and very good, and service has always been efficient.

“I'm not wild about Asian Fusion, but I'm wild about this place”

I really don't care for many Asian Fusion restaurants, but I went with a large group to Wild Ginger. WOW, I was so glad I did. Every single dish was outstanding! The menu was pre-set for our group, but we had many dishes that were served family style. I got a little taste of many different things. Although I cannot tell you any of the names of the dishes, I can tell you that every one of them was great! We had everything from chicken to beef to seafood to noodles. All were very flavorful and prepared perfectly. It is a tiny bit loud, depending on where you are seated. It is a fairly large space and we saw a variety of dress, from pretty casual to business/evening. Definitely try this place. If I am back in Seattle, this will be one of my first stops.

“Fantastic Asian restaurant in downtown Seattle”

Wild Ginger has already been discovered by many but we had no problems with a last-minute reservation although we did have to arrive a bit earlier on Saturday night than we would otherwise have chosen. After our great meal on Saturday night, we reserved a table for the following night.

The restaurant offers two different sizes (and costs) for many of their dishes and our Saturday waitress suggested getting several of the half-portion offerings so we could sample more of their food. We followed our waitresses’ food and portion recommendations and were very pleased both nights. On both nights we had a full order of Black Pepper Scallops, which were superb. We also had half portions of the waitress-endorsed Squash & Sweet Potato Stew, Lamb Bumbu, Panang Beef Curry, Lam Seung Beef La Lot, and Szechwan Green Beans (some dishes on Saturday, some on Sunday). All were excellent.
Our only disappointment was the Vietnamese Buddha Vegetable Rolls (which was not one of the waitress’ recommendations) – they were just ordinary.

A full order of scallops plus three half-orders each night was more than sufficient for two women and the cost (without alcohol) was very reasonable.
