If you're vacationing in Iceland Hotel Ranga is a must. It's in a great location for seeing the sights in southern Iceland or if you're heading into the interior. The hotel owner and concierge was an amazing help in giving us tips on the local attactions and things to do. The first day we were there we did some offroading to a glacier in Porsmork (otherwords known as God's Country).

As you enter the rustic hotel a lifesize polar bear greets you! The room are spacious and well equiped. The hotel staff are so helpful and very friendly. The food is of the typical european menu except with Icelandic specialties like puffin, reindeer or goose.

Next time I visit Iceland I'm definitely staying at Hotel Ranga again!

I stayed here for a night with my boyfriend and we had a FABULOUS time! We took a bus tour to the south of the island and we stayed there on the way back (the driver kindly left us at the door of the hotel!)

The staff were possibly the nicest whilst we stayed in iceland! We got a beautiful room with views of the river (and hot tub!)
Our room was a deluxe room- it was very big with jacuzzi bath!
We had a door which led out to the gardens and hot tub outside.
The hotel was very quiet...only a handful of other guests stayed there.

Dinner is expensive- but that is known in iceland anyways. We both ordered lamb, which was superb! Buffet Breakfast was fantastic- served till 11am...nice bonus!

Because we depended on public transport, we had to get the bus back to the city, which was at 5pm. They allowed us to have late check out (4.30pm) without any extra cost and One of the staff (could have been the manager/owner?) gave us a lift to the town to catch the bus, now thats hospitality!

If anyone decides to stay in the south of the island, this is the place. I highly recommend it!

I followed Trip Advisor advice and booked this hotel for our anniversary. What a good tip. This hotel was super. We felt like the only guests in the place. The rooms were big, bathrooms huge, and there was a nice view to the river. Even in December, we made use of the hot tub and had a nice drink in the bar. We were really happy with our whole stay.
