I visited the World of Coca-Cola this past weekend - and have to hope that it will become more interesting/interactive when it relocates to its new facility next month.
The World of Coca-Cola basically presents some "historical" artifacts (historical in that they are old and relate to Coca-Cola) and it explains the development of the Coca-Cola brand from the beginning forward. If you're interested in advertising and/or national branding campaigns (especially the history of them), then this would be a great place to check out. If you're not absolutely fascinated by every Coca-Cola advertising decision - from target audiences to the inclusion of celebrities - then you might find it a tad boring.
There are approximately 5-6 different "sections," which basically provide a timeline of the Coca-Cola product from inception to current day. A movie theater area runs Coca-Cola commercials from the past 50-60 years, which was entertaining. The last stage of the tour includes a "Coca-Cola around the world" where you get to sample various Coca-Cola products from both the U.S. and abroad - many of which were disgusting. The tour ends - obviously - with you being funneled through a HUGE gift shop where all sorts of over-priced Coca-Cola memorabilia is available for purchase.
This being my first time in Atlanta - and Coca-Cola being a staple of the Atlanta community for so long - I'm glad I did the tour. However, I wouldn't pay money to do it a second time unless it incorporated more interactive information and/or an actual example of the bottling process. I would have found it interesting to know more about current-day operations.
