On 11/21/07, we were booked for 2 rooms at the Westin Buckhead in a handicapped room for my 87 year old wheelchair bound mother with an connecting room for my husband and I to be close by. When we arrived, the rooms we were assigned to had bars on the wall for the tub (that my 87 year old mom couldn't get in), a low toilet seat with bars (which she couldn't get on and off of with ease), and a wheelchair level peep hole. I was then shown another room that I was told was "another option" --- 2 rooms, neither of which was accessible nor connecting, but that had a beautiful corner room view. The night manager told me what she would try to do-- she said she would call the other hotels. She said she felt she could get them to match the price from the Westin and/or get us lower priced rooms since she "knew people" at the other hotels in the area. The only hotel she could find with the ADA room was the Ritz Carlton at a higher price than the Westin's rate. When I reminded her what she said she would do, she said, "I said I would try. I am sorry if I upset you." My misunderstanding meant me getting on the phone to make my own calls to the Ritz Carlton to book 2 rooms that were perfect except that they weren't connecting rooms. I wouldn't suggest anyone stay at the Westin Buckhead if you need ADA wheelchair access to a shower or comfortable toilet.

I'm definitely pick and hard to satisfy and I must say that during my short stay at the Westin I had nothing to complain about.

The beds were very comfortable, the room and bathroom was clean and neat--and came with a flat screen tv. The lobby area was great and there was plenty of parking.

Booked through Priceline and paid $120. This hotel gets a 9.5 from me.

I stayed very briefly at the Westin on my way home to Texas from Connecticut. I arrived at 7pm and left at 7am, so I had little time to enjoy the facilities or the area. I've stayed in the Buckhead area of Atlanta before, and it's certainly not lacking in fantastic shopping and dining choices. The Westin is in a very, very good location to enjoy Buckhead since the Lenox Square mall is right next door.

The room had some dated features, but overall was plenty comfortable and the Heavenly Bed was great. The lobby area is very attractive, and the check-in service was perfect. The hotel seems to be very well set up for business travelers.

I try to be as generous as I can with ratings --- within reason --- and my 5 rating here is based on the $159 AAA rate I got online. For the price, it was a nice stay. But I had to really hunt for that rate, even though it was a very quiet Sunday night, and the non-AAA, basic rate the hotel was advertising otherwise was a strange number around $350 --- $354 if I remember correctly. For that kind of money on a Sunday night in Atlanta, the Westin would be a 3/5 overall for the facilities vs. value. The Four Seasons was only a few bucks more. Fortunately I found the AAA rate and I was very satisfied with the brief stay for what I paid.

A great place for a weekend w/o kids or a girl's shopping trip!
