“Noisy New Year!”

Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead

Nice enough room. We (my husband and 11 year old son) were in town to visit friends and attend the Chic-fil-a Bowl game. Originally we were assigned at room on the 4th floor. Because of the high-priced, revenue generating New Year's Eve party at this property, we asked to moved to a room that would be less likely to be noisy - HA! We all had to stand in a long line at the front desk again on the afternoon of 12/31 to receive our arm bands that entitled us to get on the elevator for the remainder of the night. I don't know how others were able to access guest room floors without them, but they did! We asked other hotel guests (Jennifer across the hall must have been very popular because she kept having people knock on her door and yell out her name) and friends a couple of times to keep it down. Finally, around 3 am, we called security when non-registered guests also began making noise +.
The management did not seem the least bit concerned about our safety nor were they apologetic - on New Year's it's the party that generates the $$$!

“Plush”

Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead

We were exhibitors with the temps during the Mart and I must say that this hotel was wonderful. CLEAN....easy access to the marta ( our first time and WE figured in out: the best way to get to the airport and Americasmart. Actually, it was almost to fancy for us in our blue jeans! Room service appreciated....no refrig but there is a in room safe. If you are coming for the Gift Mart or anything else this place is a dream. The bedding and towels were wonderful! Cant say enought A+ all the way!

“Enjoyed it very much”

Just back from a weekend at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta. We did a AAA package that included breakfast each day.

Rooms were very nice and clean and well appointed. Amenities in the room were average for this type of hotel, although housekeeping forgot to leave a pen and a sewing kit (both of which I needed and had to call for).

Did not read TripAdvisor (shame) before our visit and therefore was not aware of the free shuttle service within 2 miles of the hotel. We were not advised of that at check-in, and we surely would have used it. Check-in was the low point of the visit. The young lady was efficient and professional, but very unfriendly and did not properly welcome us to the hotel by telling us about all of the services and amenities available.

It was my wife's birthday, but the card in the room from the hotel was addressed to me -- a let down. But they did leave us a free cheese tray with free bottle of wine.

Room service was as good as I've ever had. Wife had a pasta Pomodoro and it was outstanding. The bread was hot and delicious. I got my usual cheeseburger and it was perfect. Everything was hot and delicious. Room service prices are getting a little ridiculous, though. $5 for a Diet Coke? No, thanks, I'll take a tap water.

The buffet breakfast was decent. Some waffles and biscuits and gravy would have been nice. The buffet was not replenished as promptly as it should have been. Good thing this breakfast was included in our AAA package because this average meal would have set us back $46.

But overall, we were very pleased with this hotel. The employees were very good for the most part. Everything was clean and well maintained. Food was outstanding.

“Loved the Cassis restaurant!”

We recently spent a weekend at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead and enjoyed the hotel very much. We had a lovely and very comfortable corner room. Our only complaint is the slowness of the service in just about every area of the hotel. However, the staff are all very friendly and work hard which leads us to think this is a management problem. Our most pleasant surprise was the Cassis restaurant in the hotel. We normally don't eat in hotel restaurants but ate at Cassis the evening we arrived as it was late and we didn't feel like going outside the hotel. I had the avocado and tomato salad with cumin dressing to start. My husband had the 14 oz ribeye with bernaise sauce and mushroom ragut; I had the rack of lamb with roasted potatoes and haricot verts. We split a cherry bread pudding for dessert. Every bite was absolutely outstanding and we both agree this is one of the best meals we have ever had. Our server was great. As it was late and there weren't many people in the restaurant, we had a delightful conversation with him. Buckhead has an outstanding restaurant scene so there are lots of excellent choices, but we suggest giving Cassis a try whether staying at the Grand Hyatt or not.
