Stayed at the Sheraton Atlanta on Courtland St. from the 8th of June to the 12th 2007. Primary reason for for the trip was the Cubs vs Braves at Turner Field.
Did not have a car, used MARTA the entire trip.MARTA shuttled the five in my group right to the front door of Turner Field.Spend the 13$ for unlimited ride card. All Trains and buses.
The hotel was in a great location. Two blocks from Peachtree Center stop. Not one person in my party of 5 had any complaints about the hotel. We paid about 89$ per night.
The pool area is very nice. Did not use any of the hotels resturants.
I would definitely stay there again.Would not rent a car.

“Red Carpet Treatment!! A Sweet Surprise! ”

Sheraton Atlanta Hotel

After booking a room here via Priceline for $55, we then thought to read the reviews on this site. Boy, were we disappointed when we read the poor reviews! So, I emailed the manager about our concerns. He reassured us that he'd make sure we had an exceptional stay. We were given their official "RED CARPET TREATMENT" with our own Red Carpet Team to assist us upon arrival! We had also been upgraded to VIP status and thus got free internet access in our room and free entry into the VIP only Club lounge. The club lounge is a great perk- they serve fresh fruit, food, snacks, sodas, coffee, water ALL DAY and NIGHT!! For free! There is free internet access, a flat screen tv, pool table, private bath and checkers and chess table- it was awesome! We were very pleasantly surprised when we took the kids to the pool. A member of the red carpet team brought out bags and bags of pool toys, goggles, floaties, noodles and more! The kids had a ball with all the fun pool toys. Another time we returned to the hotel, employees were handing out more free toys to the kids. We found the concierge to be quite personable and helpful. Our room was superb. I was definitely surprised and relieved! It featured 2 huge queen sized beds with down comforters and a super-soft, super-comfy bed!!! It was amazing. The room also had two comfy chairs and an ottoman and a wall-length window. Everything was spotless. The large flat screen tv was quite "cool" as our kids proclaimed! I would certainly recommend this hotel. The staff is really very accomodating and anxious to please their guests. So, if you have any concerns, contact the hotel manager- I am POSITIVE that he will make your visit as special as ours!!

“Deplorable”

First our luggage was dropped. Stacked improperly on the bellhop mobile and carelessly moved. We were awakend the next morning at 5:00
am by what sounded like some one scraping on the walls. We were told secruity would look into it. Same sound the next am at 5:00 again. I tracked it down to the laundry room. They didn't Know this??? We were
"moved" to another room. First it would be ready at noon. Then 1, then...you get the picture. 3:00, new room, no one to help me, my wife, our baby, and all of my presentation materials to our new room.
That's right, I had a presentation to give later that day. I kinda thought I would use the day to prep, not wrestle with the front desk. When I was not offered reasonable compensation( I asked for a few meals comped... I was offered additional nights lodging.... here?!? ), I requested a meeting with the executive manager, Kevin Kobishop, at the front desk at 4:30. He did not show. nor did he do me the service of leaving any kind of message that he would not make it.

“Just another Sheraton....”

Sheraton Atlanta Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Sabah, Malaysia

The Sheraton Atlanta was really, just another Sheraton, with absolutely no character. With cookie cutter precision, almost everything about this hotel reminded me of my recent stay at another Sheraton in Asia.

Let's start with the lobby. It was freshly refurbished, but it was boring - plain marble flooring and the usual lights and furniture. Front desk was efficient in getting you a room but never did the agent smile. Allocated room 124 (or something like that), I had to take the elevators down one level. That's OK, I thought, until the doors opened. There it was, the main entrance to the ballroom and there was a convention going on. That meant I had to walk past a large number of people chatting around enjoying their coffee break at the foyer to get to my room. How ridiculous?! And oh, I had to walk up a flight of stairs to get to my room. I asked myself, didn't I just come down one level?

Rooms as you can see in the photos are, in my opinion, very plain, and too ordinary. The bed was of course, very comfortable. Airconditioning in the room was hopeless - it was too warm and the thermostat didn't work at all. Seeing I was there only for a night, I couldn't be bothered getting it fixed.

Check-out was swift in the morning and that was after walking past hundreds of people again gathered near the elevators up!

“Kinda Shabby, but Serviceable”

Sheraton Atlanta Hotel

2 of 5 stars
Boston, Massachusetts

I heard they had done a big renovation on this hotel and as I walked in, I was impressed by the common spaces. The bar is outstanding with a nice pool table and nightly entertainment. There is a little store and cafe that is nice for quick snacks. An atrium pool area is filled with plants and is quite inviting. But the rooms . . . . old furniture with dents and dings and dingy carpet. Paper thin walls and cramped closets. My first room was smoky so I asked for another, and it was marginally better, at the end of an interminable hallway like a cliched horror flick. A strange shower head that leaked a sad little stream of water. I didn't have to set my alarm as the girls in the room next door had the clock radio on early. Parking is about $18.00 a day and it is a long walk through a strange alleyway to get your car. Don't bring one.

But it is downtown Atlanta, conventioneer city, so it was tolerable, but quite a long walk from the convention center. Try a get a room closer to the elevator on a lower floor to save time getting out of this place.
