I am a hotel's worst kind of customer i.e. I don't mind paying but it better be good. The Ritz Carlton in Buckhead was perfect in every way: I have no complaints and only rave reviews for the staff, the property, and the overall experience. My wife, children and I stayed for the Thanksgiving week while renovations were done on our home. As a home away from home, it was an excellent experience. In fact, we are planning to stay next Thanksgiving. The Christmas Tree Lighting festivities at Lenox Mall are right across the street. I sat outside at the Ritz's "patio lounge," smoked a cigar, and had a perfect perspective of the goings on. One tip: If you plan to eat Thanksgiving dinner at the hotel, book early and it's pricey: $82 per person. We tried to book too late and all they had was an 8:30pm time slot. Good news: We took the short walk down the street and had a fantastic Thanksgiving meal at Maggiano's for only $32 per person.

Great location for Mall shopping expeditions but the hotel is a bit tired. Junior Suite with a bathroom that you wouldn't think large enough for a child's bedroom. Staggeringly hideous decoration with "plus" upholstery that you would expect on the set of a 1980's TV drama. No proper room safes and a feel of a building that has just not kept up with the times. Staff very willing to do what they want to do, not what they think the customer wants. Manager cannot have left the village and seen what real hotels are like these days. Not a disaster, but not a pleasure to spend the money here.

“great stay at the Ritz”

The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead

After making a reservation for an ADA room at the Westin Buckhead that was not acceptable upon checking in, we made a last minute Thanksgiving eve reservation at the Ritz Carlton Buckhead and moved across the street to the Ritz from the Westin Buckhead. The ADA room at the Ritz was perfect. The only complaint we had was that the room didn't connect to the room next door, so I was a bit worried about the person in the ADA room. My 87 year old mother loved her ADA room at the Ritz. The ADA shower was perfect as was the toilet height and bars for transfers. She couldn't get to the closet in her wheelchair but that was ok compared to not being able to shower or use the toilet at the Westin Buckhead. The ADA room view was spectacular. THe ADA room looked right onto the Rich's (Macy's) Christmas tree and had a beautiful corner room view. Our room which was next door was also perfect. All of the Ritz Carlton staff members were very helpful and couldn't have been nicer during our crisis at helping us find another place to stay after seeing the ADA room at the Westin Buckhead.
We loved the bar area and the business center at the Ritz. The doormen were very patient with us and our wheelchair, walker, wheelchair cushion, slow moving mother, etc..
I would highly rate our Ritz Carlton Buckhead experience!

My wife and I stayed in a suite on the club level for our Anniversary/Thanksgiving get away. Absolutely a wonderful hotel. The Club Level has four food presentations a day. Continental breakfast in the morning to dessert and Coffee late in the evening.
We had dinner in the Dining Room. Excellent presentation but very expensive. Be prepared
I recommend the Ritz Carlton Buckhead, especially the club level.

“Retrain the breakfast room staff, hand out ear muffs”

The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead

Nov 21, 2007

Stayed in this hotel Oct 2007 as I generally like the chain and the service standards are usually excellent.

Had a great session in the bar with a couple of friends and the barman, very professional and great fun with a few folk around us. However the racket in the bar of an evening was awful as it is the gathering place for the conventioneers that have nowhere else to go, you can't hear yourself think. Deeply unpleasant.

The breakfast restaurant is very dark and sombre, unpleasant for breakfast OK for dinner, and again extremely noisy, but the most surprising finding was the service in the restaurant which is , strangely, rude and aggressive. They don't make eye contact, reach across you, slop water, juice , coffee into the various glasses, cups etc. Terrible. This happened consistently on the five or six occasions on two trips we had there last month. I would avoid breakfast there and won't have another meeting with clients anywhere near the place.

The concierge service was great, again very cold eyed, but two football game tickets for that night were produced out of thin air on the halfway line nearly, about 1 hour after the request went in. Great service, terrible game with the falcons!

Front desk services very polite and good, rooms great as usual, no worries there. So I guess uneven service and retrain the breakfast room staff would be my beef. If people don't want to work there then free them to work in Subway or whatever. My colleague has been back for a week since and , guess what, he sayed in a Westin ( which he didn't like either).
