We filed a complaint with Hilton Hotels, see our experience below. We were guests June18-23, 2008.
We have completed our stay at the Corpus Christi Texas Hilton Garden Inn. The manager of the hotel was totally obnoxious to us, threatened to put us out on the street, late at night, even though he knew our trip to Corpus was for medical reasons. We basically used no housekeeping services during our stay, to ensure that there would be no further issues with the manager. We traded in our dirty towels ourselves for clean ones, and only one day had them empty the trash and change our linens. So, we did not ask for the normal cleaning services, even though it is part of the normally expected services that we pay for.
Upon arrival we found out that our room was booked incorrectly by the hotel, even though we called the hotel directly to confirm that we had a king size bed, as the evolution bed was the reason we chose the hotel to begin with, and we had a hard copy of the email confirmation with us and showed it to the desk clerk. Since the only king rooms that they had available were for disabled people, we went to check in to one of those. It was filthy, and the entryway light was burned out, the toilet seat was dirty with urine stains, and when we turned down the bed, the sheets had someone's bodily hair all over it. It obviously had not been cleaned after the last guest left. They then sent us to two other disabled king rooms, that had their own cleanliness issues, one of which had the pull down seat in the shower pulled out of the wall, and either thrown out or was stolen. The last one we looked at smelled like urine when we walked into the room. Not only was this a horrible way to ruin a one-year-old hotel, but also it made us wonder if they don't think they have to clean properly for disabled people. We were then forced to take a queen room for the first night, bought our own Lysol disinfectant to clean the bathroom ourselves, and had a very uncomfortable night sleep, as those beds were very hard as they were not evolution beds.
We were moved to a king room the following night, and noticed the bathroom was also not cleaned well. We called the front desk to have housekeeping clean the toilet seat; the manager, the assistant manager and head housekeeper came up to our room. The manager was loud, rude and obnoxious when they walked in. The manager said to us that they don't have time to thoroughly clean the rooms, so if they are dirty, well, too bad. That is when he threatened to kick us out. He was certainly not very customer friendly, and presented a very poor reflection on Hilton Hotels. The stay could have been a nice experience if the manager knew how to run a hotel properly, and learned the rule "the customer is always right". He yelled at us and called us liars. He also told us that the neighboring Courtyard by Marriott had the same evolution beds that they do, so we should just go there to stay. We called the Courtyard, and they had no idea what an evolution bed was.
