I recently spent a 3-day weekend in San Antonio and stayed in this hotel. I originally thought we were staying in the Drury Plaza on the Riverwalk (which is literally two buildings down) but there was some sort of miscommunication along the way and bf booked this one instead. Both hotels are on the same street so be sure to pay attention to which one you're making a reservation at! Anyway, we requested an early check-in without any problems and our room was ready when we got there. Check in was a breeze and the staff was very nice and friendly.
As other reviewers have noted, they are currently renovating the lobby, but this wasn't really an issue as we never heard any noise coming from the area that was blocked off. We did, however, hear some noise from the construction going on next door to the hotel, but it wasn't bad at all. Our room was actually on the construction side and we didn't have any issues (and I'm a pretty light sleeper).
We had a king room (not a suite) and it was a pretty average size. One suprising thing was that the ceilings were really high which made the room feel more open and airly. There was nothing special about the room though. Everything seemed clean, but other than that, nothing worth mentioning. One thing to note though is that they don't really provide any toilettries (just a bottle of shampoo and a few bars of soap), so be sure to pack your own.
All in all, the hotel was decent and I would probably stay there again. The extras were a nice bonus - free breakfast, free internet access and business center, sodas and popcorn in the lobby, and adult beverages and snacks at happy hour in the evening - but this obviously isn't the Ritz so don't expect to be wowed. I definitely think this would be a great place for a family or for people who aren't planning on spending too much time in the hotel, but if you're looking for a bit more of a "classy" experience, this isn't the place for you.
