My husband and I spent two nights at the Hyatt Regency on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. We were there for a conference, so did not choose the hotel specifically. The location of the hotel is great. Honestly, however, if you stayed anywhere on the Riverwalk, the location would also be great. I would not say that the location is the defining factor, although it was nice walking just a block to the Alamo.
The parking is across the street in a public lot and that worked out fine. The facilities are very clean and nice. The conference facilities were also nice. Staff was very friendly.
The one thing that was a huge bummer is that we asked for a "quiet room" and did get a corner one at the end of the hallway which should have been quiet by any standards. However, while the hotel has all of these nice amenities, the one thing they lack is doors that block sound out. Laying in bed we could hear every word that room service was saying to our neighbors outside and people talking in normal voices in the hallway. Nothing was muffled. I used ear plugs, but my husband, a normally sound sleeper, had a very tough time sleeping.
If the hotel could just use some of the money for thicker doors that go all the way to the carpet (minus the 2 inch gap), this hotel would be much higher rated in my book. $200-300/night, I feel like this should have already been accomplished.
If we were to go back, we would probably choose somewhere else.
