Wanting to go to the Grand Canyon and do other activities in Flagstaff, I saw this hotel as #5 and decided it was a bargain for being so high-rated. When we got there, we were disappointed. The place looked like an ugly motel! However, when my family went in, the lobby was inviting and the staff was friendly. The employee at the desk allowed us to look at our room before we got it (just in case), which was nice and clean, but not exceptional. Outside was a little noisy, bit not enough to bother someone. The real problem was the very noisy refrigerator. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi outside to get there. was closed, even though it was the beginning of spring. Breakfast was good, but you have to walk

There was a big shopping center across the street, with a Wal-Mart which let us process the photos we took at the canyon. It also has a laundromat, which came in handy when the washing machine in the hotel was out of order. There are many restaurants in the area, too.

This hotel is fine, but you might be better off staying somewhere else, especially if you plan to stay more than 2 nights.

“Annoying”

Ramada West - Grand Canyon Area

Having just flown to Vegas form London then driving 250 miles or so to Flagstaff my wife and I where looking forward to checking into our room and catching up on some much needed sleep. I booked the room on the Ramada website well in advance and specified a king room for two nights. This was all confirmed and was looking good.
On first impressions the motel looked very clean and inviting in the lobby area. Upon checking in the assistant on the desk looked a little confused and said but you've already checked in. Which was strange. It took a while for her to believe me that I'd not checked in. She then went on to confirm we had a room for one night. I had to explain for 5 miniutes that we had booked it for 2 nights. After 20 very annoying minutes we were checked in and had our keys. When we opened our room door there was a couple on the bed. After initial embaresment they explained they had just checked in too. On returning to reception the assistant explianed how that she mistakingly checked someone else in using my surnmae, booking reference and credit card details INCOMPETENT OR WHAT? After blowing my top I was given my room heavily discounted.
On returning to our room the 2nd night after a days sight seeing our room keys wouldn't work. I yet again had a trip to reception the same girl was on the desk. She thought we had only one night reserved and our keys had been reset. I got the 2nd night hevily discounted due to her incompetence yet again.
On the plus side, the free breakfast is excellent the location is good and the rooms are very clean. If it hadn't been for the desk staff I would recomend this place, but if you want a stress free stay in Flagstaff I would look elsewhrere

“Comfortable and clean rooms at a great price! What more could you ask for?!”

Ramada West - Grand Canyon Area

I was just looking for a nice, cheap place to stay with my boyfriend to visit our friends up at NAU for one night. This place was great! It is located in a very good area where the drive to downtown is less than 2 miles and it is right off the freeway (surprisingly it was not noisy at all either!!) I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a cheap, comfy place to stay. Of course, if you're looking for something high class, this isn't your place...but it is very clean.

The "hot" breakfast wasn't all that great, could have been way better. But that's okay, there is an IHOP right down the street from the hotel! :)

“Great Accommodations but Wireless Needs Help”

Ramada West - Grand Canyon Area

This hotel was located in a very convenient and nice area. There are many restaurants nearby and the hotel is close to Interstate 40 and just a few minutes from downtown Flagstaff. Unfortunately, the wireless signal did not extend to the rear of the hotel, the rooms farthest from the lobby. Fortunately I was able to pick up a signal from a neighboring hotel. Another unfortunate part of the stay was that the hotel's sole washing machine was out of order. The clerk sold us laundry detergent without bothering to mention this. Lack of basic customer service.

The room was spacious and clean and I was not greeted with an overpowering chemical smell when I opened the door for the first time.

“Very Nice”

Stayed for one night in March, 2008 during a long weekend road trip in AZ and NM. The outside was pretty dated looking, and I wasn't expecting much when I checked in. However, the staff at the front desk was very friendly, and the rooms...I was shocked to find a beautifully appointed room, with high quality bed linens, great bath amenities, decent coffee, a fridge, microwave and very, very comfortable bed. The location - right by the freeway and several restaurants - was perfect for me, might not be for someone staying multiple nights in Flag.

The value was astounding, under fifty dollars.

Erin, the lovely desk clerk, was very kind and professional.
