“dissapointed”

Hyatt Regency Buffalo

Jul 7, 2008

Just got through a three night stay at the Hyatt Regency.
have stayed often in cheaper hotels working stayaway jobs
but was dissapointed with this place.

I have always connected the name Hyatt Regency with high
class and luxury like the Ritz and expected a weekend of luxury
without being nickeled and dimed to death!
although accomodations were arranged through priceline
i guess i expected too much for the high price we paid.

The staff was very helpful, the room was clean and well kept
and the bed was the most comfortable i have ever slept in.
the most positive point was being able to park in front of
the hotel as my wife is partially disabled and seeing the
handicapped tag in the mirror we were allowed to park close
at no extra cost!

HOWEVER, at lower class places i have stayed such as Super 8
,Days Inn, Comfort Inn and others we got much more for less!
like free wifi (Hyatt wanted $10.00 a day for an internet connection!)
with the lower class places i got used to having the fridge and
microwave in the room which the Hyatt does not!

At the other places i have stayed they usually provide a 4 cup
coffee maker in the room and free coffee night or day in the
lobby as well as a continental breakfast for free. not so at the Hyatt.
although they did provide a single cup coffeemaker and all the
free coffee packets you want, you would be charged for pre made coffee
and breakfast was extra - delivered to your room or not!

Of all the places i have stayed, the Comfort Inn had the best services!
their continental breakfast is high class with the ability to make your
own waffles not to mention sausage and eggs provided to create
a full and filling breakfast to get you on your way! and all at no extra cost!

Although my vacation was good and i did enjoy it i missed the ability to
look up local services and info whenever i wanted via the internet!

I also don't know if the water was expected to be bad tasting or unhealthy
to drink but the two bottles of water provided in the room with $5.00
price tags gave the impression you didn't want to consume the tap water!

One more thing, If you wanted to take a dip in the pool after being out all day
forget it.. they closed that early so after 6:00 pm you'd have to swim somewhere else!

“Not worth the money”

Hyatt Regency Buffalo

Jun 23, 2008

The Hyatt Regency in Buffalo did not live up to my expectations as a Hyatt hotel. The lobby is simple but elegant, leading me to expect great things from the rooms, and I was greatly disappointed.

Firstly, the customer service of the front desk was mediocre at best. Although they were friendly, it seemed they could get nothing done right the first (and often also the second) time around. I needed a shuttle for 6+ people and no one could help me because apparently only one person is available who can handle this and for the week that I tried to set this up, she was off work. Also, I had to switch the reservation on the last day to add a day and it took 3 times of me explaining the information, and them telling me it would be taken care of to fix the problem.

Second, the rooms were sub-par. There is no real bedspread on the bed, no bedskirt either so the box-spring mattress is bare and showing. Not to mention the box spring was dirty and splattered with mulitple stains. It concerns me to see stains on one part of the furniture because then I start wondering what is it and what ELSE has it been on and not been cleaned off?

Furthermore, the cleaning staff was terrible. I dislike having the staff come in, but after 3 nights I needed everything cleaned and fresh towels brought in. When I got back to the room later that day, the dirty towels had not been picked up and no new ones had been brought in. Our drinking cups had not been cleaned. One bed was made up, but made up very poorly with the bottom bed sheet not even being tucked in, the second wasn't made up and the pillows were where they were when I left the room. I couldn't even believe that they had even walked in the room, and except for the one bed being partially made, I wouldn't have!

Finally, I can't believe that a Hyatt hotel which is supposed to be classy and higher end won't offer free wireless internet yet a Days Inn will. The internet (whether wireless or not) costs you $10/night.

It's all about customer service for me, and how the personnel didn't "own" their jobs, go a little extra step (or even a regualr step) to get the job done, and how the hotel itself doesn't go the extra mile disappointed me greatly and made me consider staying in hotel chains other than Hyatt when I travel.

Overall, the Hyatt is not worth the money

“Hyatt was fair”

Hyatt Regency Buffalo

May 27, 2008

Stayed at the Hyatt for the Buffalo Marathon. Picked that hotel because it was the headquarter for the race. Hotel was well located. Rooms were clean and spacious however, lacked furnitures and felt empty. Bed was confortable. Breakfast at the hotel was very good. Service at the restaurant and front desk was great. Parking was $10 across the street. There is no pool at that hotel. I expected more from this hotel but overall it was good.

We stay @ this Hotel May 17 to 19 . This hotel doesnot represent a true Hyatt. The lobby entrance is going through renovations.. The bar and resurant in the atrium is is nice and the ballrooms are nice however the rooms and hallway are well below standards. I can not recoomend this hotel @ this time. Go to another HOTEL.

“A little renovations but very nice accomodations”

Hyatt Regency Buffalo

May 20, 2008

We just stayed at the Hyatt Regency for the weekend. My niece was graduating from Canisius College. The hotel is going through a little bit of renovations but it didnt hinder our stay. Upon arrival the concierge upgraded me to a Executive Suite on the 10th floor. Very nice accomodations. The room was clean and very roomy. The nice part was the windows. On two walls numerous large windows overlooked downtown Buffalo. We had breakfast at the resteraunt which worked out very well. The have a $14 buffet which provided us with ample food. The service was very good. The only downfall was that the business area required a cc to access the internet. This could get costly at a rate of $5 per five minutes. Everyone was very helpful and the lobby area was spectacular. I would recommend staying at this hotel.
