We spent 5 nights at the Ilima Hotel. We were looking for an affordable hotel near Waikiki beach, which is challenging. We were also looking for a room with some space as we were traveling with our 5-year-old. The Ilima fit the bill. We got a great AAA rate. The room was very big for the Waikiki area and had a fully-equipped kitchenette area. It is an older property and some areas are showing it's age. The room itself was clean and updated but not fancy. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom looked recently remodeled with newer fixtures. The property's pool is small and was a bit disappointing. The pool area is also shaded and drafty so a hot tub would have been nice. (We had also just arrived from the Westin Maui, which was downright opulent but twice as expensive, so this did kind of skew our perspective). We appreciated the on-site free parking and the on-site self-serve laundry facilities.
