Great price for a decent hotel. It's not luxury but no need to be since you will be spending your day outside in the sun or in the beach. I had a great view of the Ala Wai canal but next time will request for a higher floor instead of the 7th floor so i can view Diamond Head. Staff were helpful and it's a great place to get picked up by tours, activities, etc.... Walking distance to the shops, restaurants, Starbucks, and ABC stores (then again, you find one in every inch of the block). Recommended for affordable stay.

Our stay at the Castle Island Colony hotel was very nice... It was well worth the price for a low budget vacation..
The hotel had many amenities that were nice such as cable tv...microwave... pots, pans, dishes and even forks, knives and spoons...I could even hit WI-FI hot spots from the room.
This hotel has a nice lanai that allows you to sit outside rather than just look out of a window as the last hotel I stayed at did.
The staff was very helpful as was the security personnel..
I wouid definitely stay here again although the next time I would ask for a higher floor.. (I was on the 7th)

We had our room on 32nd floor. It was amazing view of beach, diamond head and the golf course from there. The room was very clean, excellent service, awsome pool and spa. The best part part was the big balcony with the room where we sat in the evenings and early mornings and enjoyed the view with cool breeze. Walking distance from waikiki.
The kitchen and batroom were small but still not that should effect you big time.
I would recommend this hotel to stay anytime.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful over our 2 week stay. It started out a bit rocky when we were offered a room with 2 beds overlooking the intersection of Ala Wai & Seaside. Not wanting to spend the next morning sorting out our room, we said we'd wait while they found us something else. After 5 or 10 minutes, we were given a room on the 36th floor, with a view of Diamondhead/golf course/mountains/bit of ocean. Since we'd made the reservation many months in advance, it only seemed reasonable to wait for what we'd reserved. We knew from reading reviews at this website that the bathroom & kitchen areas would be small, so no surprise there. The room was made up daily, and kept in good shape. The balcony was large (unlike the first room we were offered) and was used daily for morning coffee, and to gear down in the evening. It was a short walk to restaurants, tours, beach, and shopping. Thanks to a previous review, we found St. Germaine bakery (Kuhio accross from Jack In The Box) the first night, and had great bread every day for breakfast. Since we were staying for 2 weeks, the coin-op laundry was appreciated, and it was no hardship to wait at the pool while it was being done. There is also a massage center right on the same level as the pool, laundry, and sundries shop. Overall, we'd consider staying there again.
