Just off exit #6 from I-75, the Holiday Inn Express on Mitchell Ave. in Cincinnati is remarkably convenient to the highway. In fact, the onramp to Northbound 75 is so close you have to be prepared to get on it as soon as you pull out of the parking lot or you might miss it. Despite the proximity to the highway, I never noticed any traffic noise in my 2nd floor room.
I paid $94 for a 2-double bed room on the Holiday Inn website, which I thought was a fair value. The room was large, in good condition, and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I noted two drawbacks. First, the swimming pool is tiny. If I had my young kids (who love using the hotel pool) on a trip to Cincinnati with me, I would stay elsewhere, probably the chain's Blue Ash location. More than one family at a time couldn't use the pool comfortably here. The other problem is that the parking lot is rather small, even for the property only having 54 rooms. Arriving at 10:00 PM I took one of the last four spots. There was not obvious offsite parking, so if I had arrived much later I don't know where I would have parked. The spaces are tiny, and you're at risk of your car's doors being dinged.
Overall a fine experience, and I'll stay here again when I am in town by myself.
