What a wonderful family adventure!!!!! I live in Puerto Rico and read about the tour in a tourism publication and decided to try it with the family; my husband, a 14 yr old daughter and an 11 yr old son. We had a blast. The paddling was sometimes a bit difficut, specially the return against the current, but it was all worthwhile. We drove back home talking about the experience and how much fun we had as a family doing something together. I would recommend this tour to everyone, specially the early one since you start at sundown and can see more of the mangroves, the bay and the sunset. Once it gets dark, you cant appreciate the beautiful surroundings.

Seeing the glowing water was just fantastic, the guides were very knowledgeable and very good at what they do.
They were also very concerned about the environment and gave us lots of useful information and they were able to answer all of our questions with no problems.
The fun atmosphere was terrific and my son loved the splash party at the end..... the guides were excellent and totally made the trip... truly memorable....

Kayaking in puerto Rico is certainly an experience to remember. I recomend this trip to couples who want to test their relationship and the patience that they have for each other. As the male I sat in the back of the two man Kayak and thus was in charge of steering. However if your partner is in the front they can counter any steering direction u may be trying to do and they will then blame you if the kayak runs into the mangroves on the sides of the water.
But back to the kayaking itself, seeing the glowing water is worth all the arguing and spats u go through on the trip. The water glows when u move your paddle and dip your hands in the water. The tour guides explain the sensitivity of this ecosystem and also explains what is going on with the bioluminecing of the water.
Remember if u take the tour it is extremely dark for part of the tour until u get into the open waters. be careful while kayaking and be mindful of other kayaking groups and people in ur group when u are maneuvering ur paddles. And couples get ready for a fight.....trust me their will be a blame game going on for this excursion!

I recommend Kayaking Puerto Rico to everyone!!! It was one of most amazing things I've ever done. The tour guides are very knowledgable, friendly and funny and they really respect their environment. They made it a great tour experience for everyone.
You start out kayaking through a canal of red mangrove trees and you end up in a beautiful lagoon called Bio Bay. The bioluminescence starts glowing from the very beginning and gets more and more intense as you go. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Little fish underwater look like shooting stars of light. When you pick up the water and let it trickle down your arm, it is like fairy dust and glitter dripping down your arm. I was in total amazement that mother nature creates such a magnificent setting. I am definitely going back next time I'm in Puerto Rico!! Thanks to Dalberto, Percy, Julio and all the others!
