Stayed two nights in May 07 with my husband. The position of this hotel makes it one of the best in the area. It is literally on the edge with no other hotels down below with unrestricted views. Amazing!

Pros: Oh, the location!!! The room was large, bright, and comfortable. Yes, the beds are a mattress on a stone platform, but that is how most beds in cave-like hotels are!!!! But they were very comfortable and we slept great! Loved the wall sconces that you could control with a dimmer. Our balcony was a private one (no walk-through) and came with two chairs, a table, and an umbrella. My favorite moments of our entire trip were on this balcony - breakfast served to you in your robes, wine and cheese dinner bought from the little shop down the street, and sitting in the pure simple silence like I hadn't heard in ages. The staff is extremely friendly and bubbly. We never lifted one finger with our bags coming or going. Two men carried our heavy stuff a good five minutes walk to where the cab drops and picks-up. Excellent service!

Cons: That bathroom was in a queasy yellow and was in need of some updating. My first shower was a cold one, but every other after was hot with strong pressure.

Overall, this hotel is a fabulous choice!

We only spent one night at Tholos Resort but were absolutely blown away by the hotel's position, our room and amazing view. We had one of the more private rooms at the very top which had our own balcony (no walk through) and an amazing view. The room itself was large with basic kitchen facilities and sitting area. The bathroom and shower were lovely. We spent the day lazing by the pool enjoying wine in the sun and watched the amazing sunset from our private balcony in the evening. Breakfast in the morning served on our balcony was delicious and relaxed. When we enquired about check out time, our hostkindly offered us our room until 2pm as we weren't getting a ferry out until 4pm. Highly recommended.

Our reservations stated 4 guests with 2 kings size beds plainly in black & white. When we arrived there was only one king size bed & 2 couches & they tried to charge us an additional $200 for having 4 guest. There was no DVD player or CD player as ad stated, satelite TV did not work (only 4 channels). You had to carry your luggage very far up hill in the heat to get to the hotel, there are no raods to the front of it. Our first room had black mold on walls & smelled, after getting a bad sinus infection they moved us. The 2nd room had a horrible ordor like garbage. We moved the matress from the bed & there was nothing under it, bare concrete with a hole in the wall which held sewer lines! We ended up taking the matress outside & sleeping on the balconly.
The service was good from the housekeeper & front desk ladies & the view was spactacular.

The owners are super friendly. Breakfast is delivered to your room promptly at any time you designate between 8-12. The hotel is very quiet and Imorvigli is about 5 minutes by car/motorbike from Fira. We were in room 8 which was the room all the way to the right if you were facing the Hotel. All rooms have Jacuzzi tubs which is virtually unheard of in Greece (Im Greek and travel extensively in Greece). The rooms also had internet hook up (free of charge). The balconies of the room we stayed in were semi-private - that is the room next door shared the same balcony (you can see it in the video clip) but every body is so chilled out that you either (1) don't see them (2) or they are quiet and friendly.

A great place for couples as it is quiet and very romantic. The pool which is small was nice and always empty. We enjoyed it a few times each day. Santorini is not known for its beaches but rather its physical beauty and you really appreciate the beauty from this Hotel.

The best sandy beach is Perrisa on the other side of the island. The rock formation visible from all the balconies is climbable though I would recommend good shoes for the last hair-raising scramble to the top (more visually scary than actually dangerous).

All and all a great spot for couples and would certainly go back upon a return trip.
