We had the pleasure of visiting the Radisson SAS in Fredrikstad as the company arranged our Christmas party there. This hotel is undoubtely the most modern in town and has a fantastic ambience, yet the small town of Fredrikstad is a different matter..

First, the reception area really sets the standard. Large, chic chandelers, stone walls with built-in moodlights (or something else that keeps changing colours) and an overall tasteful apperance. The staff is also helpful, except they had handed out my phonenumber to an annoying guest (older man trying to pick up young folks in the bar) without my consent. Absolutely unprofessional! I spent the night receiving unwanted phonecalls...The manager however assured me this would be dealt with.

Besides that, the rooms are modern, spacious with flat-screen TV's and amazing beds as with most Radisson SAS these days. Note, most of the rooms features walk-in showers so if you prefer tubs, make sure to ask for it specifically.

The bar has an amazing fireplace and the restaurant is also really cool. All in all I'd recommend this hotel if you ever have to visit Fredrikstad. Best in town!

The Radisson SAS, opened in 2007, is easily Fredrikstad's best hotel. The rooms are large, bright, clean and well- equipped. The hotel's breakfast is excellent, with a big choice of good and well- prepared cold and hot dishes.

The food in general, and the service, is good. The hotel is very business- like, with few facilities other than guest- and meeting rooms and food. There is a very fast wireless internet connection, freely available for the guests. .

The hotel is very centrally located in the pedestrian Nygaardsgata (main entrance from Nygaten), with shopping and cafes. The riverside promenade with restaurants and the ferry to the old town (Gamlebyen) is just a few minutes' walk away, and the walk to the railway station takes 8-10 min.

Wonderful hotel. Very tasteful and large rooms.

The Filini restaurant is above average. But tomatoes are kept in a refrigerator which makes them with out taste.

Staffs are competent and friendly.

I'm at my hotel room right now, writing this review and I've got to say that this hotel is amazing. I've stayed here since monday, and I just don't want to travel home. The rooms are huge new, clean and full of luxury like the rest of the hotel. The bathroom is excellent, the staff is friendly and It's a super fast internet connection here. The best thing with this trip was on thursday, when the town was completely in fire and flames because there were a movie or something that had a premiere, and there I saw the the 1980's icon "Don Johnson" from "Miami Vice" - And He stayed at the Radisson hotel. I know It was him, because there was a big press conference around him, and I've got three seasons of "Miami Vice" on dvd at home. Anyway, the hotel Is amazing and I advise everyone to visit this hotel.
