If you want to the leave the resort for a full day excursion, you can either participate in an "organized" trip or do something more adventurous: Off the beaten path - rent a car and discover the East  your own: Such a day trip is described on  www.puntacanaecotours.com, which also leads to the bigger website  www.bavaroecotours.com, Spend a few dollars in the poor countryside and be part of  "Tourism for Tomorrow", or also called "Pro Poor Tourism". Get a road map, drive carefully and make sure you are insured and you'll encounter a beautiful nature when discovering the Cordillera of the East.  Rewarding target:  the scenic landscape between El Seibo and Miches. Stop for a local meal at  Mirador Vista del Valle in Pedro Sanchez, right in the middle of this " Ecological Corredor", and refresh yourself in a small river, before continuing the roundtrip. Admire the long-stretched waterfall "Marlboro" continueing towards Miches,  wher you'll find a long "virgin" beach again, and along the coastal road you can easily return to the Resort without getting lost.
