The Newtown Bar has now had a mjor facelift and been renamed as Bar Twist.
The bar has again been taken over and the New Owner Jimmy has gone back to the original name of the Newtown bar
For 14 years the Newtown catered to the slightly more mature members of the Edinburgh gay "scene" but this has changed with the facelift and now not only are the under 30's visiting but also the occasional female ventures in.they also do great food 7 days a week 12.30 pm till 7.00pm
The bright and airey decor is a vast improvement and with the new windows letting the Scottish sunshine in you cna now actually see the other customers. The ambience changes later in the evening when the lights are dimmed and the music system creeps up a notch.
