Visitors to the city of Gaeta have various opportunities to participate in a number of sports and activists.  Due to its close access to the Tyrrhenian Sea, many of these activities are based around water and the area’s four main beaches.

With the many water activities available in Gaeta come certain inherent dangers, most of which can be easily avoided by following a few simple rules such as always wearing a life jacket when on a boat.  For a list of useful water safety tips, visit the American Red Cross website.

The city of Gaeta has four main public beaches, which include Serapo, Fontania, Arianta, and Sant’Agostino.  Serapo Beach is the most popular beach around the city.  It is long and sandy, and attracts lots of tourists with beach chairs and drink services.

There are plenty of water sports available at the beaches around the city.  Many companies rent out jet skis, sea kayaks, and snorkeling gear.  There are also possibilities to go parasailing and on boat rides.  Although the city is not known for it, scuba diving is also available.  Beach volleyball is another popular activity.
