Yogyakarta has evolved a lot in the last years considering dining possibilities!One of the best experiences is Hani's Bakery and Restaurant. Located north of Hyatt Regency, in Jl. Palagan, Hani's offers gorgeous local and international food and is mainly frequented by expats and (higher class) locals. Surrounded by sawahs it is a quiet hide-away place. Another newcomer is Nanamia pizza, located in the student area behind the Plaza hotel in Jl. Gejayan. Affordable and good pizza!

One of the best places for Gudeg (Yogya's local speciality!): Bu Yani on Jl. Ahmad Dahlan. Open from 9 pm till 1 or 2 at night. It is a roadside warung where you sit on the ground to eat, but it is really clean!
