Families with children visiting Ankara will be happy to find a few things in the city geared towards kids and families.  The city is home to seveal beautiful and well-kept parks, with at least one in every major section of the city.   One of the city's largest is Glenclick Park which has a large boating lake and an amusement park.  Kurtulus Park has an ice skating rink, and several others feature ponds with swans and botanical gardens.  Ankara's parks are free to the public.

In addition to its parks, Ankara offers families its Ataturk Farm and Zoo.  This real working farm welcomes visitors with its collection of animals, dairy farm tours, several agricultural centers, and working brewery.  Visitors to the farm can have picnics on the grounds, or sample some of the products made there such as homemade ice cream, cheese, milk, freshly brewed beer, and beef and chicken kebabs cooked over a charcoal fire.  A few cafés are also located on the property.  The farm is a popular family destination for locals and visitors alike.  Ask at your hotel or any taxi driver for directions.
