Downtown Main Street in Plymouth has lots of new enchanting shops and boutiques. Guaranteed to be a sensory esperience, one interesting stylish clothing store ( Pilgrim's Progress - contemporary men and women's upscale casual and formal clothing) would be a good look see. Common Sense Wholesome Food Market also offers wonderful customer service and good products. Laughing Moon is a delight for children and teens and a great gift shop for the 'not so traditional' souvenier. And there are many more stores and specialty shops peppered in between many new ethnic restaurants and antique shops. It's worth the stroll down the historial main street while touring Plymouth's Waterfront. Also off Main Street you will find North Street which bring you down to the Waterfront. There you will find " Old North Street & Curiousity Shop". Fun place to browse and pick up an unusual item. While on Water Street, don't forget to pop over to the Village Landing Marketplace near the Raddison Hotel offering more shops and dining opportunities.
If you are into art and would like a print of Plymouth destinations, a visit to the Golden Gull Studio on 17 South Park Avenue off of Water Street will be your best bet. But you can also visit the Plimoth Plantation Gift Shop off Rte 3A to pick up prints, books about Plymouth, and other very original and tasteful Plymouth souveniers. If you don't have time to visit the Plantation, you can tell them you are there just to visit the gift shop only and they will let you in for free. You may just be able to purchase a handmade reminder of your vacation in either a piece of art, jewelry, or pottery by a New England artisan if you visit the Richard Sparrow House opposite the Governor John Carver Inn, too.
In addition to the Shops at 5 there is also the Industrial Park at Exit 7 off Rte 3 which has opened a mecca of stores namely: Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Beth, Bath & Beyond being anchor stores.
There are many points of interest in Plymouth but when you need a respite from all of that history, you don't have to go far for shopping in this town. Something to think about if you land there on a rainy day.
