The restaurant is located in downtown Philadelphia (behind Macy's) on Chestnut. First off the building the restaurant is housed in will take your breath away. The ceilings are about 30 foot high with 1920s crystal chandeliers and perfectly spaced dark wood furniture. The walls are lined with exquisite bottles of wine from across the globe.

If you have never been to Fogo De Chao before, here is a quick summary of how it works. It's a fixed price. The cost $45 each. This includes endless trips to the salad buffet (and what a buffet) The apple/pineapple and raisin salad is to die for by the way. Once seated you are also presented with a basket of cheese bread - also endless! You are also presented with a round "tag". One side red, the other green. When you ready to start savouring the 12 different types of Brazilian BBQ'd meat -you turn the red tag so that it lies green on the table. At this stage, between 5 and 7 waiters, each carrying a different type of meat (from beef to chicken to pork) visits your table and cuts the meat from a large skewer.  Meanwhile the head waiter provides you with (once again endless) mashed potatoes with cheese (excellent), fried banana and fried cheese.

Be warned! If you are enjoying your endless beef, pork or chicken and don't want another waiter stopping to cut yet more meat onto your plate, don't forget to turn the round "tag" so that RED faces up - this basically tells them you are quite happy with your current selection.

The restaurant has branches in Texas and other major cities as well as in Brazil.
