Location: San Francisco
About me: I travel the US, Europe, and Asia for work, spending over 100 nights in hotels each year.
I prefer moderate to upper-end hotels that know how to treat a guest with respect. My test for a hotel is whether they have 24 hour room service. If they do, that's generally a good sign that it's a real hotel. I also like to stay in hotels that are walking distance to restaurants and shops.
My biggest pet peeve: poorly made beds: for example, sheets too small for the bed, so they come loose easily and I end up sleeping in a tangle of loose sheets. Or sheets not tucked in at the foot of the bed. Drives me crazy when a hotel can't stock the correct sheet sizes and can't train maids to make a bed!
My travel style: Splurge occasionally
